Page DIV Styles |

This Action is more of proof of concept. I may not take it any further, though, as the issues involved are very complex and it's possible that Freeway 4 will do this automatically. However, for the masochists amongst you, try this and see if it will fly. Just read the warning and instructions before downloading. |

To use - apply the Action to a page. Any DIV with an id tag will have its styles moved from the body to the CSS container at the top of the page, thus removing layout from content. All fine and dandy. This Action works with the External CSS Action. This is where the pain starts, as all the styles are gathered up and amalgamated into one chunk of data. You must be Organised Every item in the Freeway document has a layer. All of these are automatically named as they are created. However, names do not coincide from page to page UNLESS you name things manually. If you use this Action and the External CSS Action, you must do so very carefully: • Put all common Layer (DIV) elements on the Master Page and name them there. This includes any text/graphic boxes. This is actually forcing you to think CSS - your layout is part of an external file - Freeway itself controls just the content. • Any DIVs on the CHILD pages must have a SITEWIDE UNIQUE NAME or at the very least if you place the same element on different pages, use the same name. However, if you have such elements then you should rename the moved element. If you do not, then elements may not behave as expected. Warning This Action is in beta. It may not advance much further than this, however I have released it here for you to try and test. However, I release it without warranty of any kind. I welcome feedback. This documentation is also incomplete. I will add to it as needs arise. |
